What this covers

This policy explains what Shotgun Scramble collects when you organize or join a golf tournament through the app, and what we do with it. It applies to everyone who creates an account, accepts an invitation, or is listed as a player on a tournament — including people who never make an account, because organizers can add players by name and email.

Information we collect

  • Account details: name, email, phone number, and, if you add one, a home address and profile photo.
  • Tournament data: RSVPs, team assignments, scores, handicaps you enter for yourself or teammates, and messages tied to a specific event.
  • Sign-in data: if you sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from that provider. We never see your social password.
  • Payment data: if you upgrade to a premium organizer plan, our payment processor (Stripe) handles your card details directly — we only receive confirmation that a charge succeeded, not your full card number.
  • Device and usage data: basic diagnostic information (browser type, error logs) so we can fix bugs.

How we use it

We use your information to:

  • Run the tournament features you sign up for — invitations, RSVPs, tee sheets, and scoring.
  • Send transactional emails and texts, like invitations, RSVP reminders, and tee time confirmations.
  • Process premium subscription payments and prevent fraud.
  • Diagnose bugs and improve reliability.

We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

We rely on a small set of service providers to run the app, and share only what each one needs to do its job:

  • Supabase hosts our database and handles authentication.
  • Resend delivers invitation and notification emails on our behalf.
  • Stripe processes premium subscription payments.
  • Google and Facebook if you choose to sign in with one of those accounts.

We share tournament information — like your name and RSVP status — with the organizer and other players in that same tournament, since that's the whole point of the app. We don't share it outside that tournament.

How long we keep it

We keep tournament records for as long as your account is active, so organizers can look back at past events. You can ask us to delete your account and personal data at any time from your profile settings or by emailing us — we'll remove it within 30 days, except where we're required to keep payment records for tax or legal reasons.

Your choices

You can update or delete your profile information at any time from your account settings. You can turn off email or text notifications from the same page. If you were invited to a tournament but never created an account, contact the organizer or email us and we'll remove your information.

Children

Shotgun Scramble is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change to how we handle your data, we'll update this page and change the date at the top.
